WARWICKSHIRE PARTNERS IN CARE

MISSION STATEMENT

WPIC is an organisation representing the Independent sector nursing and residential homes of the County. These were originally two separate bodies that have now merged following the inauguration of the National Care Standards Commission in April 2002 that now recognises one main category of Care Home with either the delivery of nursing care or personal care.

The principles of the Partnership are: -

1 To promote the highest level of care for residents within its member homes to a standard of excellence embracing the fundamental principles of good care practice which will improve and sustain the service user's overall quality of life.

2 To provide support and information to potential service user's and their families on all matters relating to care placement.

3 To prevent service user's from being referred to facilities which are inadequate for their needs.

4 To represent the Independent sector in Warwickshire in the formulation and development of Community Care policies with Warwickshire County Council Social Services, Primary Care Trusts and the Strategic Health Authority.

5 To promote the development of careers in care and the provision of and access to training opportunities.

6 To represent its members interest honestly and equitably and in accordance with the Government directive 'Building Capacity and Partnership in Care.
