WPIC is an organisation representing the Independent sector
nursing and residential homes of the County. These were originally
two separate bodies that have now merged following the inauguration
of the National Care Standards Commission in April 2002 that
now recognises one main category of Care Home with either the
delivery of nursing care or personal care.
1 To promote the highest level of care for residents within
its member homes to a standard of excellence embracing the
fundamental principles of good care practice which will improve
and sustain the service user's overall quality of life.
2 To provide support and information to potential service
user's and their families on all matters relating to care
placement.
3 To prevent service user's from being referred to facilities
which are inadequate for their needs.
4 To represent the Independent sector in Warwickshire in
the formulation and development of Community Care policies
with Warwickshire County Council Social Services, Primary
Care Trusts and the Strategic Health Authority.
5 To promote the development of careers in care and the provision
of and access to training opportunities.
6 To represent its members interest honestly and equitably
and in accordance with the Government directive 'Building
Capacity and Partnership in Care.
